HTC brings new devices in its Sensation range and the recent addition is Sensation XL. This high-end smartphone comprises of excellent multimedia functionalities and is equipped with ‘Beats’ audio whereas Samsung Galaxy S2 has set a new trend for the upcoming smartphones. HTC Sensation XL has a Super LCD display of 4.7 inches. It gives a decent resolution with a pixel count of 480×800 and 199 ppi pixel density. The handset is very responsive. Therefore, it scores more in terms of display.
Power
HTC Sensation XL runs a single-core Scorpion CPU of 1.5GHz and comes with Adreno 205 GPU. The GPU makes it capable of playing HD content and heavy games. It offers a storage of 16GB with a RAM of 768MB that facilitates multi-tasking.
Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU of 1.2GHz. The Mali-400MP GPU makes it very powerful. It has a RAM of 1GB and offers an internal storage of 16GB or 32GB. Samsung Galaxy S2 gives a better performance than Sensation XL.

Camera
HTC Sensation XL has an 8MP camera that captures the video at 720p. It incorporates certain excellent features such as dual-LED flash and geo-tagging but the smartphone does not have impressive photographic capabilities. There is a 1.3MP front facing camera.
Samsung Galaxy S2 features an 8MP camera with geo-tagging, touch-focus, smile detection, auto-focus, LED flash, face detection and image stablisation. It captures video at 1080p. It does not have a hardware shutter button that prevents the user from exploring the camera to the best of its capabilities. There is a 2MP camera in its front that can be used for video chat.

Software
Both the phones run Android 2.3.4 OS but their user interfaces are different. HTC Sensation XL comes with a Sense UI. The Android’s profile offered by it is raised single-handedly. The software offers various apps, icons, social networking integration and widgets. ‘Beats’ audio is another amazing feature of Sensation XL. The sound quality offered by the device is excellent but it cannot become a replacement of the iPod.
Samsung Galaxy S2 features TouchWiz UI. Though it gives a decent performance but still cannot compete with Sense. The UI offers icons, custom widgets and various other features such as KIES Air app. The KIES Air app makes your handset accessible over Wi-Fi in case you want wireless connectivity.
The hubs are also accessible with the user interface and they offer integration with social networks. You can also access the newspapers and games but these are not very interesting and at times, cause frustration. If compared, the Sense UI performs better than the TouchWiz UI.

Samsung Galaxy S2 is available at Rs. 28,000 whereas the price of HTC Sensation XL is Rs.39,990.
Sum Up
Samsung Galaxy S2 is the winner. It is the leader in the Android market and comes with many unique features. HTC Sensation XL is also worth buying but lacks behind because of just few factors. The aesthetic design and impressive UI of the smartphone allows it to give a tough competition to the other contenders.
