Samsung has introduced another smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, on Android OS platform whereas HTC Sensation XE is an improved version of HTC Sensation. Galaxy Nexus is popular for its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich that is the latest update from Google. On the other hand, HTC Sensation XE is equipped with Beats Audio and is ideal for music lovers. Form Factor
Samsung Galaxy Nexus measures 135.5×67.9×8.9mm and weighs 135g whereas HTC Sensation XE comes with a specification of 126.1×65.4×11.3mm and weighs 151g.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is based on the co-branding between Google Nexus and Samsung Galaxy. It looks fantastic and gives a decent impression. It has curved edges and feels quite comfortable in hand.
HTC Sensation XE looks attractive and resembles the HTC series of rounded design. Its red highlights and large proportions make it look very impressive. If compared to Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it is little heavy. Overall, Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a better form factor than HTC Sensation XE.

Both the smartphones have large screens that look quite attractive. Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a S-LCD screen of 4.65 inches that gives a 1280×720 pixel resolution and a 316 ppi pixel density.

With a SuperAMOLED high definition display, it has a capacitive touchscreen that is coated with Gorilla Glass. The screen is prevented from fingerprints with an oleophobic coating. The smartphone is supported by Gyro Sensor, accelerometer and multi-touch output.
On the other hand, HTC Sensation XE has a 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen and gives a resolution of 540×960 pixels.If we compare both the smartphones in terms of screen technology, Samsung Galaxy Nexus has an edge.
Storage
HTC Sensation XE has a storage capacity of 4GB. Out of this, only 1GB is accessible. The capacity can be expanded to 32GB with a microSD card. It comes with a sufficient amount of RAM i.e 768 MB. If you use an external card, it will take a lot of time to read.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers a 16GB or 32GB storage with a RAM of 1GB. There is no provision for a microSD card slot. However, the internal memory is more than enough. Again, Samsung Galaxy Nexus takes the cake in terms of storage.
Processor
Galaxy Nexus runs a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor of 1.2GHz. The processor of the smartphone is not as powerful as its hardware is. Sensation XE comes with a dual-core processor of 1.2GHz and an Adreno 220 GPU. Galaxy Nexus gives a decent power performance but cannot compete with that of Sensation XE.

Operating System
Galaxy Nexus & Sensation XE are especially designed for Android OS. Galaxy Nexus has the latest update of Google and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich whereas Sensation XE uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Though Gingerbread gives a good performance but it cannot compete with the functionality of ICS. The browser is a major problem and it is quite slow. Many new features have been introduced with ICS. It offers efficient scrolling and multi-tasking along with a fast performance. Therefore, Galaxy Nexus has a better operating system.
Camera
Sensation XE takes an edge over Galaxy Nexus by offering an 8MP camera that takes images at a resolution of 3264×2448 pixels and captures video at 1080p. Another unique feature of the smartphone is Stereo Sound recording. Other features include geo-tagging, touch focus, image stablization, instant capture, face detection and auto focus.

However, Galaxy Nexus has a 5MP camera that offers a resolution of 2592×1936 pixels. There is a 1.3MP front facing camera that can be used for video chat.
Price
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available in India at Rs. 43,500 whereas the cost of HTC Sensation XE is Rs. 30,000 approx.
Sum Up
Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a better appearance and display as compared to HTC Sensation XE. Best of all, it runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and offers decent storage options. HTC Sensation XE is better in terms of processor and camera. However, an upgradation to ICS will make it more attractive.
