Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a high definition SuperAMOLED display of 5.3 inches that gives a decent resolution of 800×1280 pixels. The users get a beautiful viewing experience with a pixel density of 285 ppi.
Nokia Lumia 800 also has a decent display. It features an AMOLED screen of 3.7 inches that gives a resolution of 480×800 pixels with a pixel density of 256 ppi.
Processor
Nokia Lumia 800 runs a single-core CPU of 1.4GHz and comes with additional features such as Adreno 205 GPU. In case you are familiar with Adreno 200, you will notice a change in the speed.
There are streaming textures in Adreno 205 that can combine the image surfaces and video with 3D graphics. The smartphone comprises of a RAM of 512MB that is sufficient for testing games or apps. Samsung Galaxy Note performs better than Nokia with a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor of 1.4GHz. It comes with a RAM of 1GB and a Mali-400MP GPU.

Operating System
Nokia Lumia 800 runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango whereas Samsung Galaxy Note uses Android Gingerbread 2.3.6. Android has a smooth, intuitive and easy to use interface. Galaxy Note will soon be updated with Android 4.0 update. The TouchWiz UI offers extra widgets, social networking and hub system.
However, Nokia Lumia 800, being a Windows Phone, comes with many features such as Internet Explorer 9, social networking support etc. The Windows metro UI gives a beautiful visual appeal.
The screens with icons is replaced with live tiles and a responsive and fast interface. This is an attractive feature that will fetch many users.
Camera
The stylish Nokia Lumia 800 features an 8MP camera. It features Carl Zeiss Optics and 3X digital zoom. Other features include geotagging, fast sharing, touch focus, exposure compensation, dual-LED flash, fast sharing, auto & manual fast balance etc. It can also record HD video. However, it does not have a front facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note also comes with an 8MP camera. There is a 2MP secondary camera that can be used for video chatting.
Apps
Here, Android has an edge over Windows. The apps are limited in Windows marketplace whereas Android market features 4,00,000 apps. Though the Windows apps are growing but they are not able to compete with the Android apps.

If we talk of usability and performance, Nokia Lumia stands with Samsung Galaxy Note at the same position.
