The Indian market is witnessing the release of new smartphones every other day. Each smartphone is packed with exciting features to lure the customers. People go for the high-end smartphones because of the advanced features. In this article, we compare Samsung Galaxy S2 with HTC Sensation XE. Samsung Galaxy S2 measures 125.3×66.1×8.5 mm and weighs 116g whereas HTC Sensation XE is 126.2×65.4×11.3mm in size and weighs 151g. Samsung Galaxy S2 is light in weight because of its plastic exterior. However, it looks quite delicate but is quite robust and durable. HTC Sensation XE is better than Galaxy S2. The smartphone is designed with high-quality materials and due consideration is given to strength and durability.

Software

Both the smartphones run on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS and are equipped with the best of features. Galaxy S2 comprises of TouchWiz UI 4.0 that makes it deliver an excellent performance. The interface functions fairly well with the Android OS. However, its graphics are not very striking and one may lose interest after a while.

Sensation XE comes with a HTC Sense UI that keeps it ahead of other handsets. The user interface makes the smartphone efficient, stylish and sleek with applications, custom widgets & high-grade graphics. It integrates email, messages and social networking apps with the interface.

Features

Sensation XE is equipped with ‘Beats’ audio using which you can save presets. Sounds can also be adjusted for getting the perfect audio quality from the smartphone. It also comes with ‘Beats’ audio headphones that boast of an amazing audio experience. Galaxy S2 also offers a variety of features. It supports DivX and XviD video formats and offers a KIES software. The data of the smartphone is accessible on your computer by using this software. But Sensation XE still has an edge over Galaxy S2.

Camera

Galaxy S2 features an 8MP camera along with geo-tagging, smile and face recognition, touch-focus, image stabilization, auto focus, dual-LED flash and face detection. It captures video at 1080p. There is a secondary camera that can be used for video calling.

Sensation XE has the same camera specifications as that of Galaxy S2. But it cannot compete with Galaxy S2 in terms of performance. The images appear to be blurry and washed out.

Power

Both the smartphones give an excellent power performance. Samsung Galaxy S2 runs a processor of 1.2GHz. It comes with a Exynos chipset and Mali-400 MP GPU. There are no instances of slowdown with a RAM of 1GB.

Sensation XE also delivers an effective performance. It runs a Snapdragon processor of 1.5GHz and comes with Adreno 220 GPU. Though it scores more than Galaxy S2 in terms of processing power but it has a RAM of 768MB that is less than S2.

Price

Samsung Galaxy S2 is priced at Rs. 28,000 whereas the cost of HTC Sensation XE starts at Rs. 30,000.

Sum Up

HTC Sensation XE takes the lead when compared to Samsung Galaxy S2. Galaxy S2 is also a decent smartphone but needs to upgrade itself with the new features to survive in the competition. Extra development will be beneficial for Sensation XE in the long run.
